ZTE Cybersecurity Lab

Adhering to the principle of openness and transparency and fulfilling its commitment to the ICT industry security against cybersecurity threats, ZTE has established three cybersecurity labs in Nanjing, China, Rome, Italy, and Düsseldorf, Germany. The three labs serve as a platform that enable global customers, regulators and other stakeholders to perform independent security assessments of ZTE products, services, processes, and also a platform for collaboration and communication. ZTE Cybersecurity Lab is a part of our governance system to offer our customers secure delivery of our products and services.

+ Nanjing Cybersecurity Lab

The Nanjing lab is the first established, largest, and most comprehensive cybersecurity lab in ZTE. It is equipped with an industry-leading 4G/5G full network integration environment covering the typical networking environment of ZTE's major product categories, as well as a well-developed environment of black and white box commercial security assessment tools and CI environment for source code integration. The lab is dedicated to serving customers, regulators, and other stakeholders to conduct independent security assessment and verification of ZTE's products and services. It is also a platform for ZTE to enhance external communication and cooperation on product security.

+ Italy Cybersecurity Lab

The Italy lab focuses on security testing and support for the regional markets. It is not only a workplace in which our security experts operate but also a collaborative platform between ZTE and institutions, universities, and all stakeholders interested in capacity building and knowledge transfer. Currently, our collaborations include the National Interuniversity Consortium for Telecommunications (CNIT), which is a non-profit organization bringing 37 Italian public universities for technical research and testing supervision. In 2021, the lab has expanded. A complete set of 4G/5G equipment was deployed in the local equipment room, which could be used for convenient simulation of live network application scenarios and security testing.

+ Germany Cybersecurity Lab

The lab in Düsseldorf, Germany, has its focus on the full end-to-end telecom network environment and the assessment infrastructure to support multiple security assessment functions, including penetration testing, document review, and source code review. It supports cybersecurity certifications and verifications by third parties, and serves as a platform for ZTE to collaborate with regulators, customers, industry associations, and universities in a long run.
